Advertising:key conventions-Skittles adverts
1) What key conventions of print adverts can you find and what are the connotations or deeper meanings of each convention? For each convention, write about how it communicates meaning to the audience. See the Maltesers advert above for an example of how to do this.
-The use of the skittles in the picture reminds us what the product is .The logo is bold on the packet in the centre so it also tells us what product it is .In the background is rainbow which is really eye catching and it reminds the viewers of skittles as a skittle packet has all the colours.The slogan is taste the rainbow which also links to the background that skittles have all the colours and that a rainbow also symbolises happiness so that also tells us that if u buy the product it will make u fell happy.
2) What is the USP (unique selling point) for Skittles and how do you know? Does the advert use any of persuasive techniques listed above?
The use of the colourful and that it does not melt and that it is something wich is way diffrent to other candys
